Our aim is for public sauna to grow as a trusted part of civic and cultural life, rooted in the common good.

Ten shared principles, shaped together by the people who build and run public sauna.
We connect operators, hosts, trainers, researchers, and stewards so no one has to build alone. Signatories can join our online community to share ideas and meet others doing this work.
Together, we help funders, cities, and policymakers see community sauna as something worth investing in and planning for well.
Without our signatories there would be no movement at all. We all stand — and sit on the sauna bench — together.
Practitioners, researchers and community leaders who run, study and champion public sauna in their own communities. They came together at the World Sauna Forum to develop the Charter, were the first to sign it, and gave their time and energy to sharing it around the world.
For now, they act as an initial steering group, helping regional advocacy and projects get off the ground.
